    • Checklist and Assessment
      • Assessment is hyperlinked to a short quiz

    • Allow for 1-2 weeks for Unit Activity completion - Suggestion - Week = (Tuesday - Monday until 12:00 am)



Discussion Forum and Blog Post Expectations

  • Mature responses to questions and comments - no attacks on ideas,
  • Guiding questions are considered in written response
  • Students respond to at least 2 other classmates posts
  • Students respond to questions about their posts
  • Each Discussion is worth 20 Pts. each. Use the Discussion Forum Scoring Rubric
  • Blog posts are private. Only the course facilitator can read and respond. Blog posts are worth 10 Pts. each


Projects - Rubrics for Projects


  • Projects should be creative and use varying levels of content. All resources should be cited. Feel free to have students use sites like Bibme to create project citations.
  • Remind students to use the rubrics to ensure successful completion of project
  • Use the Scoring rubrics for each of the projects to be graded, include feedback/comments on the rubric
  • Post grades in Gradebook along with the rubric to be shared with the student
  • Final Course Project should be uploaded and added as an attachment in the provided assessment area.


Course Facilitation Expectations


  • Preview all content prior to the beginning of the course, stay ahead of the student learning
  • Check-in daily to monitor student progress
  • Post to discussion forums and blog posts, ask probing questions for clarification or more depth in responses
  • Create weekly announcements - offer discussion summaries of student learning and interesting key points made to discussions, share reminders for upcoming units and learning activities.
  • Provide feedback to students directly if necessary
  • Contact parents if student is not working effectively
  • Blogs should not be approved to keep student posts private within the course. Message students directly about their posts.
